Cricket

Six members of the Anguilla senior team are in Barbados this week. Jahmar Hamilton, who played for the West Indies Sagicor High Performance Team last week against the touring Zimbabwe National Team, will join up with Montcin Hodge, Kelbert Walters and Lyndell Richardson as part of the Leeward Islands 50 over squad who will be taking on the Combined Colleges and Campus (CCC) on Tuesday 12th March. Although not a member of the present CCC team, Asharn Hodge, who is Anguilla’s promising young batsman at the University on a sport scholarship, will certainly be lending his support to his fellow National Team mates.
Meanwhile Chesney Hughes will be the sixth Anguillian national cricketer in Barbados as his County Team, Derbyshire, will be there as part of their preparation for the upcoming 2013 1st Class season in England.
At home, in Anguilla, the Grassroots Program continues its promotion and development of our future national and regional young cricketers. On 23rd and 24th March, 3 cluster matches will be played at the James Ronald Webster Park.
