Anguilla… Where do I begin? There are so many things about Anguilla that I hold dear to my heart. I do not think I would be who I am today without my time in Anguilla as a child. For many Anguilla is considered the “latest hotspot” to vacation; as for me, I find it home. When I was informed that I was the winner of the VIP Moonsplash Contest, I nearly fainted. I never thought I would see the day I would return to Anguilla after the loss of my mother’s business. It had been about 14 years since I had been to Anguilla. I was thrilled I got to visit the Webster Family once again (Monroe and Carol and their sons.) The trip was both emotional and heart-warming. ATB went far and beyond our expectations.
ATB placed us at Paradise Cove, which happens to be one of my favorite places on the island. Paradise Cove is filled with a warm and friendly staff. The atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil and gives you an insight into what Anguilla is all about. The uniqueness and intricate detail of the ceilings, and the premises in general is beyond beautiful. Smokey’s one of Anguilla’s hotspots is located less than half a mile away. It is a must! A fun place to visit!
Our meals were at Firefly, Da’Vida’s, Tasty’s, Mangos, Smokey’s, and Paradise Cove. These restaurants were beyond delicious and gracious with their hospitality. We couldn’t have been more satisfied! Moonsplash was an amazing experience, thanks to Moonsplash Productions and the ATB for our VIP tickets! Some of my favorite acts were by far Omari Banks, and Playing for Change! Wow! Talk about entertainment. It was right there, folks. The talent of these individuals, plus many others, is pure raw talent. You do not get that in the States anymore. We had the time of our lives!
It was great to visit Anguilla again, after living there seasonally as a child. It brought back many memories! For those who I did not get to see, I love you dearly and miss you. For those I got to see, may God continue to bless you and may He bring us together once again. I miss you all and I love you Anguilla. Thank you again Anguilla Tourist Board. You far surpassed our expectations! I can never re-pay you or give you enough thanks for allowing me to be re-united to a place that made me who I am today. I also, want to thank the people of Anguilla for making me who I am. People may think the beaches make Anguilla beautiful, but you, my friends are the true beauty of the island, and that is a fact!
