Police Report: SHOTS FIRED AT YOUNGSTER Regular Reported Incidents

On Saturday, March 9, police responded to reports of two shooting incidents one at Sandy Ground and one at South Hill.

Investigation revealed that a young man J.P. from North Valley was walking to his vehicle from Club 9 in Sandy Ground when he was approached be someone. It was reported that the person fired several shots at him causing a minor injury to his body and damage to his vehicle.

J.P. got into his vehicle and drove from Sandy Ground. When he reached the area of the South Hill Roundabout, several gunshots were again fired at his vehicle.

The Police are conducting investigations into the shooting incidents and are appealing to the public for any possible information.

In the regular Police report, eight crimes were committed during the period March 6-13. Of that number, there were two burglaries at Mount Fortune and Island Harbour. The stolen items included a battery charger and other items. There were four thefts in The Valley, Sachasses, Rey Hill and North Hill. The stolen a calf, car parts, a BlackBerry cellular phone and money.

There were eight arrests made during the period as follows: three males on default warrants; three males to prevent a breach of the peace; one male for causing grievous bodily harm and one male for burglary.

Five minor traffic accidents were reported.
