Anguilla’s Golf Course and Club House will be buzzing with activity this weekend as 50 Golfers (25 couples) enjoy competing in the “International Husband & Wife Golf Champtionship” at Cuisinart Golf Course. The popular Amateur Golf Tournament is in its 29th year and is organized by Husband and Wife team – Bill and Kathie Johnstone of Johnstone Enterprises -a company that creates and directs destination Golf Championships.

During their week long stay the amateur golfers will enjoy no less than 4 rounds of Golf – a practice round and 3 competition rounds on the highly regarded Greg Norman Signature Design Golf Course. They will also get the chance to relax and enjoy Anguilla’s beautiful beaches and the amenities at CuisinArt Golf Resort and Spa where they will stay. The competition culminates in an Awards ceremony at Café Med on Saturday.

Bill Johnstone the organizer of the Event said “We are thrilled to bring the 29th Annual International Husband & Wife Golf Championship to the exquisite CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa on the beautiful island of Anguilla! The Staff and management and facilities at CuisinArt are outstanding, the golf course is in championship condition and the people of Anguilla have been most welcoming. Our teams from all over the US and Canada look forward to a memorable Championship.”

The party comprises Golfers of all ages and they have handicaps ranging from plus 2 to 40. Previously the tournament has been held in locations such as Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Florida and the Bahamas and this is the first time it has come to a small, luxury destination like Anguilla.

Don Johnson, the Director of Golf Operations at Cuisinart Golf Club says, “The Husband & Wife golf tournament is good for Anguilla in that these type of golf events attract tourists who would not normally have chosen to vacation in Anguilla. They also now will carry back to their home memories of our golf course and share with their family and friends the great experiences that they had in Anguilla”.
