(ANGUILLA, MARCH 19, 2013) – The Anguilla Commonwealth Games Association (ACGA) presented the last two Commonwealth Sports Day Shields to the primary schools this week.
Looking back at each school visit, the ACGA feels very fortunate to have been able to share information about the Commonwealth Games and showcase the accomplishments of both past and current athletes. Whether it was a coach or athlete speaking, they provided the children with inspiring and encouraging words for the upcoming sports day that the schools have been preparing for.
A final thank you goes out to all those involved in making the school visits and award presentations possible; teachers, principals, athletes, coaches, and the children! The association and special guests received a warm welcome at each school and are very appreciative of the opportunity that this has provided.
March 11th, 2013 not only marked the start of the award presentations, or Commonwealth Sports Day for some schools, but also meant that there is less than 500 days until the Glasgow 2014 XX Commonwealth Games. Moving forward, after Commonwealth Day, the association will continue to prepare for the Games and complete other initiatives on this year’s agenda! The ACGA encouragers readers to stay tuned for further updates regarding the Games and preparations for the Games.
