POLICE REPORT: POLICE INVESTIGATING ROBBERY REPORTS

Two reports relating to robbery are under investigation by Police in Anguilla. The first was on Sunday, January 30, at Little Bay. The report was that three tourists were in the water and one was on the beach. The person on the beach was assaulted by two masked men who took all her belongings and retreated over the hill.

The second was an attempted robbery on January 31 at Blanchard’s Restaurant at Meads Bay. It was reported that four masked men, armed with a firearm and a machete, entered the restaurant and demanded money. They were challenged by the security personnel and fled the scene.

Meanwhile, there were 10 other serious crimes during the period January 30-February 6. They included four burglaries at The Valley, South Hill and The Forest. The stolen items included an I-phone, credit cards and money.

Six thefts occurred at Island Harbour, West End, Blowing Point, East End and Rey Hill. Among the stolen items were a gas tank; Blackberry cellular phones; a mattress, electricity and money.

Ten persons were arrested during the period as follows: four males for theft; three males on default warrants; one male on a warrant for indecent assault; on male for attempted rape and one male for breach of curfew.
