Senior Citizens at luncheon on the ground of the Police Headquarters

Residents from the four senior citizens homes, as well as many other persons from throughout the island, were accommodated at the luncheon, hosted by the Royal Anguilla Police Force as part of Police Week.
The catering for the event, on the grounds of the Police Headquarters in The Valley on Thursday, January 30, was done by members of the Force, coordinated by the Chairman of the week of activities,Sergeant Randolph Yearwood.
Commissioner Rudolph Proctor said he was pleased with the arrangements for the luncheon and the involvement of the Police Officers including the recently-enlisted recruits. He was particularly grateful for the continued sponsorship of the event by a faithful donor whom he did not name.

“This is our Forty-first Anniversary and Police Week and one of the features over the years is entertaining the senior citizens,” he said. “We have had a longstanding sponsor who simply wants to give back to the elderly folk in our community. Through the cooperation between them and the Police we were able once again to stage this event. We are very happy for the assistance given by that corporate citizen, and I would like to thank them for their contribution over the many years as far as this function is concerned.

“We are quite happy to be able to entertain senior citizens in our community. As you can see, we have many of them from the homes as well as a number of folk from throughout Anguilla. It is one way, as far as the Royal Anguilla Police Force is concerned, for us to give back to the public, and we will continue to make this event a major part of our Police Week activities.”
