Reflections of Life

Ronald Emanuel Lake was born on the island of Anguilla, West Indies, on November 12, 1932 to the late Sawell Matile and Harrington McKenzie Lake.
Being the first of 16 children, he learned to be industrious, to work hard, to be frugal, to be faithful and to help his fellowman.

Ronald was a generous man. He sacrificed his education to send his wife, children and even some relatives, to college. He learned his work ethics at a young age while working with his father fishing and delivering goods on his boat, “The Linda”. His motto, “He who doan work doan eat”, motivated him to work from sun up to sun down.
In the early 1950’s, he moved to St.Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands, where he courted and married Carmen Richards on December 20, 1956. To this holy union was born Carron Menald, Cynthia Arlene, Chloricia LaVelle and Rosie Everly.

He served the Lord and the SDA church as Local First Elder and Treasurer over the years. He was a terrific father, loving husband and faithful servant. He had a terrific sense of humor and was known to be a prankster.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Carmen Letitia Richards-Lake, of Kansas City, Missouri; his children Carron Lake of Tennessee; Cynthia Lake-Asfaw and Thewodros Asfaw of Rockville, Maryland; Chloricia Lake-Myers and Roland Myers, of Suffolk, Virginia; and Rosie Lake-Green and Dary Green of Kansas City, Missouri. His siblings, Florita Lake-Smith of St. Croix; Linda Lake-Haymon of St. Thomas; Linton Lake of St. Thomas; Alington Lake of New York; Evan Lake of Anguila; Weldon Lake, of Alabama; and Daphne Lake-Barnes of North Carolina.
