The LIME Basketball Business League closed on Sunday December 16th as the 2nd game of one of the most exciting championship series in the tournament’s history ended with DLG Engineering defeating Indigenous Banks 79 – 77 in overtime. This victory won them their 2nd consecutive championship and 3rd in the tournament’s 5 year history. Featuring 44 lead changes and 27 ties between the 2 games, the series ran so close that both games required overtime to decide them. Having also won the knockout tournament on opening night, DLG closed out the series with a 2-0 sweep over Indigenous Banks behind Ricky Coombs’ finals averages of 26.5 points, 15 rebounds & 3.5 assists per game. Javille Brooks lead the Bankers’ effort with averages of 25.5 points & 11.5 rebounds per game. Capping off the exciting match was the trophy & medal presentation ceremony with MICUH collecting 3rd place, Indigenous Banks collecting silver and DLG with the Gold. One lucky fan also went home with a prize of their own as they won a pair Beats headphones provided by tournament Platinum sponsor LIME. The AABA would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank LIME for its full support of this year’s Business League and its commitment to basketball and its development as a whole.
