(George Hill – 8 January, 2013) – Caribbean Cable Communications today announces that, on Monday, January 14, the company will launch all-digital television service, having fully converted all of its channels to digital technology, offering customers superior picture and sound quality, and bringing a new level of television experience to Anguilla viewers.

The company is also introducing a new Digital Preview Tier that is being offered free of charge for a limited time to all digital customers. This launch marks the arrival of High-Definition television (HDTV) in Anguilla, as the new Digital Preview Tier includes two high-definition (HD) channels and three standard-definition (SD) digital channels.

“Our customers have shown us that they love digital TV,” says Lee Bertman, President of Caribbean Cable Communications. “Following the very successful launch of digital service on our Premium Channels, we have now finished digitising all 74 of our Tier channels, which will be available on Monday, January 14, along with a special offer of free access to a new, five-channel Digital Preview Tier for anyone who signs up for digital.”
Customers will need a digital set-top box to receive the new digital service. Caribbean Cable is now offering a self-installation option, with full instructions provided via video on the company’s website and in a handout package provided with the equipment. If a Caribbean Cable technician is required to come to the home for the installation, a service fee of EC $50 will apply.

Customers who currently have CCC’s Internet service are “VIP” customers and for them, Caribbean Cable will offer discounts on the $20 per month digital cable equipment fee.

Digital customers Need to re-scan channels on Monday, January 14

On Monday, January 14, all CCC customers who have already subscribed to the company’s digital Premium channels will have to re-scan their channels to receive the updated programming, as the numbering of Caribbean Cable’s channels will be re-organised by theme for easier use and to accommodate the addition of multiple future channels. With its move to all-digital TV, Caribbean Cable canincrease its channel offerings significantly.

The revised channel line-up will be available on Caribbean Cable’s web site by clicking on the Zap2It icon. If customers have any questions regarding the re-scanning of their channels, they are invited to contact CCC’s Customer Care Associates on 461-3600.

Phased removal of old analogue channels
In order to accommodate Caribbean Cable’s move to all-digital television, with its superior picture quality, sound, and reliability, the old analogue channels must be phased off the system. Effective Monday, January 14, the analogue versions of these networks will be removed: CNBC (29); Lifetime (30); Three Angels Broadcasting (42); Travel Channel (43); Oxygen (44); and Hallmark (45).These networks will be available in digital format immediately following the removal of their analogue versions.

The new Digital Preview Tier, which is being offered free of charge for a limited time, is composed of networks that customers have been requesting, including the first HD (high-definition) channels to be launched by Caribbean Cable. (Note: Customers who wish to experience the HD channels in high-definition format must have an HD-capable TV set). Included in the Tier:
The Africa Channel HD
The Africa Channel is the first mainstream television network that is fully dedicated to showcasing the richness, diversity and beauty of modern Africa and its people. Programming includes news, talk shows, music, culture and even African soap operas.

ShiannahGumbs, Caribbean Cable’s Branch Manager for Anguilla, explains, “These are some of the most exciting additions we’ve ever made to our line-up. The new Digital Preview Tier brings a unique blend of programming that is not available anywhere else.
