Ten top CXC students, one of the Assistant Registrars, and parents, in Anguilla for Thursday’s Awards Ceremony, got a peek into the island’s history when they visited Heritage Collection Museum at East End, on Wednesday, as part of an island tour.

They were welcomed by Curator of the Museum, and Historian, Colville L. Petty, OBE, who explained the various periods covered by the artifacts, and directed their tour of the display rooms.

Ms. Dianne Medford, one of the Barbados-based Assistant Registrars in the Examinations Administration Security Division, said the students were the top 2012 awardees of the CAPE and CSEC exams. They are from Guyana, Trinidad, Barbados and Jamaica.

“The students have been brought to Anguilla so that they may receive their awards on Thursday night,” Ms Medford told The Anguillian. “This is also the 44th CXC Council Meeting, so everything is dove-tailed to occur in Anguilla.”

She was delighted with the visit at Heritage Collection Museum. “It looks really interesting and the way Mr. Petty has it, segmented, with the different eras, and so on, makes it very exciting,” she commented.
