The Caribbean Commercial Bank continued its sponsorship of the Miriam Gumbs Senior Citizens Home when all of its residents were entertained at lunch for the Christmas season.
A sizeable team of the Bank’s staff not only engaged in delivering the lunches, but also in actually feeding some of the more infirmed residents at the home.
Talitha Webster, Manager of CCB’s E-payments Department, said: “We are here to celebrate with our senior citizens. Every year we offer them a free luncheon, sponsored by the Caribbean Commercial Bank. We are delivering the food, feeding them and socialising with them.
“This is one of CCB’s ways of giving back to the community. The senior citizens were once at our age, but sometimes we neglect that and forget about them. The Bank has always included this luncheon in its budget as a service. We have been doing this for over fifteen years and we hope to continue doing so.
“Recently, CCB sponsored a trip to St. Martin for a lot of members of this home and the private homes. They met with other senior citizen groups from French and Dutch St. Martin/St. Maarten. It was a wonderful experience. This demonstrates that CCB is not just here to serve as a financial institution. The Board, Management and Staff also see it fit to sponsor other events instead of just making money. We are about giving back; we don’t stand alone – our customers are pleased and our senior citizens are happy that we are here.”
E’s Oven was the caterer for the luncheon and the music was provided by Kenneth Maynard and a band member.
