MVPS GIRLS, VPS BOYS WINNERS OF NBA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Morris Vanterpool Primary School Female Winners

The 24th Annual National Bank of Anguilla Primary School Football Tournament ended on Saturday, November 3, at Coronation Ball Park in The Valley.

The girls of the Morris Vanterpool Primary School emerged winners over the girls from the Vivien Vanterpool Primary School. This is the second time that they won the tournament, the first being eight years ago in 2004. The final match went into overtime and then on to a penalty kick after neither team was able to break the tied score of 2/2.  The Morris Vanterpool team emerged winner with a 2- nil penalty kick.

 

The boys of the Valley Primary School defeated their rivals from the Orealia KellyPrimary School. This is the third time that they won the competition, the last being thirteen years ago in 1999. The score for that match was 3-nil.

The National Bank wishes to thank all the various teams, coaches, parents and everyone else who contributed to the success of the tournament. The date of the prize-giving ceremony will be announced later.
