Maico, one of the larger and older insurance companies on the island, is sponsoring the 2012 Primary School Volleyball Championships. A sea of colour washed the Webster Park as students and parents gathered there on Friday 23rd November for the initial Knock Out Cup. Following words of encouragement from the Director of Sports, Mrs. Wilma Proctor, and the manager of MAICO, Ms. Monica Hodge, six male and female teams entered the tournament but only two were crowned champions. After several rounds of volleyball the Morris Vanterpool girls defeated the Orealia Kelly Primary School girls(25, 23) to lay claim to the Knock Out Cup.
On Monday November 26th, the regular tournament began. The results were:
