Anguilla fights in the ECVA women’s Volleyball Championships

On Thursday 22nd November, Antigua’s National Volleyball stadium, roared to live as eight teams started competing for the converted title of Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Champion. Anguilla opened her account with a tough loss to Antigua, the scores were 25-22: 25- 19; 25- 22. Team Anguilla showed many instances of brilliance but were unable to convert the good start into wins. On Friday Anguilla defeated the British Virgin Islands in a five set thriller. The scores were 22-25: 25- 21: 23- 25: 25-22, 15-12. Anguilla’s proved she is a force to reckon with, as the mighty Lucian got the scare of a life time. St. Lucia

expected to walk over Anguilla but they were stunned as the game went on to four sets. The score for the game was 22-25; 26-24; 22-25; 15-25. The three debutants, Jasmine Ruan, Amalique Hodge and Bridgette Hughes are enamored by the level of the competition and vowed to train harder.
