Police Report: BANK ROBBERY HEADS CRIMES IN ANGUILLA

One of the nine crimes committed inAnguilladuring October 10-17, was the robbing of the West End Branch of the Caribbean Commercial Bank on Tuesday, October 17.

The Police reported that, at about 9.31 am that day, they responded to a report of a robbery at the bank. On arrival they were informed that two masked men, armed with guns, held up the bank and robbed two cashiers of an undisclosed sum of money.

 

There were customers in the bank at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured. The robbers made their escape on foot in the nearby bushes.

 

The Royal Anguilla Police Force is appealing to anyone having information about the robbery to contact the Criminal Investigation Department.

 

In the regular police report, there were four thefts at South Hill, The Forest and Sandy Ground. The stolen items included fishing rigs, a bicycle, jewellery and money.

 

There were four burglaries: one at Welches and the other three in The Valley. Cellular phones and money were among the items stolen.

 

Ten arrests were made during the period as follows: two females on assault charges; one male on default warrants; two males for theft; one female to prevent a breach of the peace; three males on suspicion of robbery; and one male for burglary.
