The presentation was made by Dee-Ann Rogers. “Shara is well deserving of all the attention and recognition she is receiving – as she has been representing Anguilla for a number of years on the regional and international scene with God’s help,” Ms. Rogers stated.

“She has shown herself to be a national heroine, an inspiration and role model to young athletes, male and female, who could only dream of this possibility, but who now see it as a reality as a result of Shara’s many achievements. It goes to show that with God all things are possible.”

Ms Rogers described the glass carving as “an award with the Olympic emblem and some medals, andwith the inscription ‘Shara we are proud of you. May God continue to bless you: The Anglican community,Anguilla, August2012.’”

Shara responded: “Thank you, Dee-Ann and the Anglican community. I am blessed to receive this honour. To God be the glory, and I will continue praising Him until I die. Thank you again.”

Bishop Errol Brooks commented: “I just want to add my congratulations to Shara. She has been one of our young people here at St. Mary’s Anglican Church and we are extremely proud of her. The Church is about celebration. We celebrate God’s love and the achievements of our members as well. It is really a signal to all our young people that if they work hard, and commit themselves to what they are doing, with God’s help they can make it. So we are very proud of Shara.”

Others at the presentation was Mrs. Rosena Brooks, Mrs. Ursil Webster-Brooks and Mr. Winston Duncan.
