The KooL FM Children’s Day Committee has underscored the fourth annual Children’s Day held on the grounds of the Agriculture Department, Saturday 18th August 2012a huge success; an event that was designed for bringing our young people together and affording them the opportunity to have fun and learn while meeting and appreciating other children from across the Island.
In a statement from the Director of the Children’s Day Committee Mr. Leroy ‘Brother Lee’Richardsonindicted that “the day’s success came about through the strong support of the many sponsors who madesignificant contributions towards all aspects of the event. Our platinum sponsor the Anguilla Social Security has contributed for the past three years,and as part of its year-long 30th Anniversary celebrations,has partnered with us again this year,to present the fourth annual Children’s Day. Words of appreciation goes to the Friends, Families, Well-Wishers & Anguillans in Atlanta Georgia USA – the Anguilla St. Thomas Community in St. Thomas USVIand ROJAK (an organization comprising Anguillans in Miami Fl., New York and New Jersey) – C&N Jumbo Plaza, Essentials Book Store, Uneek Supplies and L&J Business Machines for providing the back to school items. Other local contributors included Scott Hauser, Caribbean Cable Communications, 4C’s &IRental Service and the Anguilla Red Cross Society who contributed to the equipmentfor the grounds and Blanchard’s Restaurant, Best Buy Supermarket, Ashley & Sons along with Merchants Market for assisting with the Snack Boxes”.
Mr. Richardson went on to say that “while the most excited part of the KooL FM Children’s Dayfor the children may have been the games, skipping and the receiving of gift bags, the highlight would have been the three workshops on anger management, the importance of exercise and healthy eating habitsthat were highlyattended for all segments and for this, commendations must be given to the facilitators for their voluntary services. A special thank you goes to all event officials, assignees, parents and the media who have helped to make the Kool FM Children’s Day the success it was.”
