LIME takes great pride in its sponsorship, and is thrilled about the plans for each event. The master of ceremony for Leeward Island Calypso Competition will be Tommy Joseph, with a special feature by guest artist “Super Blue” an eight time Road March champion. Both men hail forTrinidad and Tobagoand come highly recommended as some of the best in the business. In addition to these headliners, LIME urges everyone to brush up on their Leeward Island Calypso history as many promotional quizzes and giveaways will take place on the night of the Competition- Saturday August 11th.

The Soca Monarch Competition also promises to be an exciting event, with a featured performance by “D Soca Unit Band” who also performed at Soca Mele IV on July 21st. With outstanding performers like accolades like this and a talented number of new constants emerging on the Soca scene inAnguilla, it is no wonder why Mr. Romney thinks this will be a “one of a kind event.” The competition will take place on Friday August 3rd with the Groovy Soca and Power Soca taking place on the same night.

Typically the contestants are presented with their prizes after the show. However, this year all four contestants were given their prizes prior to the competition as a gesture of encouragement. Miss Anguilla Chairperson Rebecca Webster thanked LIME for coming to the rescue once again, noting that the show is “not an easy production” to facilitate each year but their support was essential to it’s success.
