GET THE BILL TO THE HOUSE

We have been waiting for years for the Education Bill to get to the House, but the pack of alleged jokers in charge of this country seems content to allow our children to grow up with the same low level of mentality that allegedly exists in the House.

Every other Bill, no matter how stupid or insignificant, gets to the House and is passed.  Then sometimes one gets the impression that the only business of the House is to pass duty free concessions.  Nothing more.

By the way, did you hear the alleged petty foolishness from the Speaker when she explained why she didn’t put the Bill on the agenda?  Real baby-house talk.  Something allegedly like: I told the Clerk to tell you to call me.  You refused to call me and so I left the Bill off the agenda to give others a chance to see it.  What alleged nonsense from a grownup – from grownup people and so called leaders.  Heaven help us.

And what did the other alleged jokers in the House say or do when the Speaker explained the reason for not putting the Bill on the agenda?  Nothing.  They just sat there and looked stupid.  They seem to have an axe to grind, but how could they allow their petty differences to stand in the way of their duty to theAnguillaelectorate – particularly the youth of this country?  So sad how the House is jeopardizing the future of all ofAnguilla’s children.

Shame! Shame on you all in the House.  EDUCATION IS KEY.  NOT TOURISM.  You got it all wrong.

I heard a lot of people saying that it is because our leaders don’t have much education that they are not concerned about the Education Bill. It is true that our leaders themselves did not reach far in their own education, and maybe that’s the reason why they don’t value education.  Allegedly only one Minister has a university degree so that maybe part of the problem in this 21st century.  Indeed, how do you expect the uneducated to be concerned about education and the Education Bill?  No way!  May God help us all!

To those leaders who could perchance understand this letter, my advice to you is: Get the Bill to the House.  Get it fast. Anguillaneeds it.

A Concerned and Bitter Anguillian.
