In its commitment to help strengthen the local business fraternity on Anguilla, the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACOCI)executed a strategic plan workshop on Sunday July 29th 2012, geared towards business development and continuity for the next three years. The one day workshop which was held at the Law Building, The Valley, was facilitated by Mr Gerald Riskin, of Edge International who has a global reputation on strategic planning.
According to the Acting Executive Director, Carlton Pickering, the session focused on several broad topics with emphasis on business continuity and strategy building to assist the local Businesses inAnguillato combat the challenges faced both locally and on the global stage. These are encompassed; Small Business Strategy, Readiness to Embrace a Tax Environment, Business Registration Under New Policies, Government Support and Strengthening the Position of the Local Chamber Chapter, Better Business Practices, among others.
The Director went on to say the planning process will assist all stakeholders in formulating a strong platform to move business in Anguilla forward and to set the precedence for good business practices for all businesses. “With all the challenges that small, medium and large businesses are facing currently in the face of the global economic impact, Anguilla cannot afford in any way, shape or form to become complacent or to not have a plan on taking our entrepreneurs to the next level of their businesses. We must remain vigilant and innovative in order to reap success in the current environment;” stated the Director.
Since its formation, the Anguilla Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been striving to elevate business and business related opportunities inAnguilla.
