Children and parents at Blossom Centre

The Blossom Centre held its first Award Ceremony on July 3, 2012 in which five of Anguilla’s children with special needs were awarded for their progress under the theme, “Celebrating Our Achievements”.   Parents, teachers, and invited guests enthusiastically applauded the childrens’ developmental successes which were achieved through much hard work and perseverance.

During the event, Timothy Hodge, Director of Social Security, presented Renuka Harrigan, Founder of The Arijah Children’s Foundation with a donation cheque to enable the Foundation to continue serving Anguilla’s children with special needs at the Blossom Centre.  Harrigan expressed, “It is because of the donations of supporters such as Social Security that the Foundation can help Anguilla’s children with special needs to develop their potential.  A child that could not walk has now taken her first steps, a child that spoke two to three words now speaks sentences, and a child that could hardly hold up her head now sits independently.  These are the extraordinary achievements the children at Blossom Centre have been able to achieve. Thank you to our supporters, teachers, visiting therapists, parents and volunteers you have made this possible.”

The Blossom Centre is an initiative of The Arijah Children’s Foundation, a non-profit organisation dedicated to serving Anguilla’s children with special needs.  The Blossom Centre provides daily educational and therapeutic programmes to help Anguilla’s children with special needs to develop their potential.  For more information please call 264-235-2742.
