CHOIR FEST ATTRACTS WIDE PARTICIPATION

Choir Fest, held on May 24, as part of the activities leading up to Anguilla Day, attracted the participation of seventeen Choirs and Chorales from throughout the island.

The event was held at the Church of God(Holiness) on theQueen Elizabeth Avenue. The participating groups comprised the following: the Apostolic Faith Church, Praise Vessels; Celestial Voices, Christian Fellowship Church Choir; Church of God (Holiness) Choir; Church of Prophecy Choir; Destiny Church Choir; Ebenezer Methodist Senior Choir; and Ebenezer Methodist Youth Choir.

The others were Wee Praise Gospel Choir; Immanuel Methodist Church Senior Choir; New Testament Church of God; No Walls Church of Hope Chorale; Princess Alexandra Hospital Choir; Seventh-day Adventist Mass Choir; St. Gerard’s Roman Catholic Church Choir; St. Mary’s Anglican Church Choir; and World Harvest Gospel Choir.

The opening session of the programme included introductory remarks by Kenneth Hodge, Principal Assistant Secretary, Home Affairs; remarks by the Chairman, Sanford Richardson, member of the Anguilla National Celebrations Committee and Commissioner of Social Development; and greetings from Minister of Home Affairs, Walcott Richardson.
