A quantity of marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine, confiscated by the Police and submitted as evidence against a number of offenders, has been destroyed by the Magistrate’s Court inAnguilla.
The illicit drugs were burnt in the backyard of The Valley Police Headquarters on Friday afternoon, January 27. The substances were in the possession of the Court for more than a year.
Senior Magistrate, Ivenia Benjamin, told The Anguillian: “The drugs were the result of raids made over a period of time. We have to get rid of them. You can take a picture of the exhibits to send a
message [to the offenders] not to mess around because you will always be caught.”
The Police found the drugs, in pots and other containers, at various locations on the island. The offenders have already been sentenced by the Magistrate’s Court.
