HOUSEKEEPING TEAM CAPTURES JULUCA HOSPITALITY QUIZ CHALLENGE

The Housekeeping Department at Cap Juluca is this year’s winner of the Resort’s Hospitality Team of the Year Award. Represented by Kishma T. Hodge, Lena Woodley, Joslyn Snagg and Lynval Richardson, the Housekeeping Team edged out last year’s winners, Food & Beverage, to claim the coveted Juluca Hospitality Trophy and other prizes.

Seven teams participated in this year’s competition which took place, at Blue Restaurant on Friday 26th August, in front of a large crowd of cheering Julucans from the various departments. Ricky Richardson, Laurette Lake and Gloria Gumbs claimed second place for the F&B Team, while the Accounts/Purchasing Team represented by Joyce Connor, Kishma C. Hodge and Carla Richards secured third place. They were followed by the Beach/Water Sports Team represented by Kareem Burris, Jennifer Romney and Everet Claxton. Kishma Connor, Nordel Lake and Rolston Hennis represented the Landscaping Team, while Winifred Davis and Melisha Maccow represented Guest Services/Reservations and Russell Mitchell, Jermaine Hughes and Dan Ramsaywack made up the Engineering Team.

This year’s competition was followed by an Employee/Manager Fun Challenge which saw the Employee Team represented by Gloria Gumbs, Ricky Richardson, Melisha Maccow and Lynval Richardson capturing the General Manager’s Trophy from the Managers Team of Monica Bryan, Naris Morton, Scott Kerr and Eugene de Rooze. The fun-filled afternoon also included special Hospitality Hero prize draws of cash and other gifts. All the Team Members received special Participation Awards, dinners and other prizes and were also among the Julucans honoured at the Resort’s Employee Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, 31st August.

Now in its seventh year, the Juluca Annual Hospitality Quiz is a culmination of the season’s training and team-building activities and focuses on hospitality standards and general knowledge about Cap Juluca and Anguilla. The competition continues to generate much excitement and friendly rivalry among the various teams and departments at the award-winning resort.
