Public gatherings for the political campaigning in Anguilla are now the order of the day. This follows the relaxing of the restrictions imposed by Government. As a result of the covid-19 virus. The island, which went into lockdown on March 20, to avoid the community spread of the disease, recorded three cases of the virus but the affected persons have fully recovered.
The public political meetings were resumed on Saturday, June 6. They were held at Stoney Ground by the Anguilla United Front; at the Island Harbour Bayfront by the Anguilla Progressive Movement; and at Pond Ground by Independent Candidate, Palmavon Webster.
Previously, the various parties and candidates were obliged to hold virtual meetings on their Facebook pages in addition to their radio broadcasts. Appearing in the various districts provides the personal touch they longed for with their constituents.
