At the conclusion of the recently held Spelling Bee competition sponsored by Scotia Bank, the Rotary Club of St Maarten – Mid Isle and the Rotaract Club of St Maarten – Sunrise that was held in St Maarten during the month of October, the school with the most supporters over the three weeks, received a prize. That prize was won by the Valley Primary School.
Zakkai Lake, a student at The Valley Primary School, placed second in the competition and received a prize for his winnings.
On Tuesday 4th December, the Rotary Club of Anguilla led by President Carolyn Richardson-Hodge visited The Valley Primary School and presented a desk top printer to the Principal, Mr. Micheal Skellekie. Mrs. Richardson-Hodge, in presenting the gift to Mr. Skellekie, said that “she hopes that the printer will go a long way in meeting the needs of the school”.
Mr. Skellekie, thanked the Rotary Club of Anguilla, for making the presentation and stated that “the printer is much needed, and will be put to good use at the school”.
Mrs. Richardson – Hodge in her closing remarks stated, “On behalf of the Rotary Club of Anguilla, I would once again like to say congratulations to Zakkai Lake for representing Anguilla well. A job well done! We are so proud of his success and wish him well in his academic endeavors in the feature”.
