Omololu International School held its School Science Fair on Tuesday February 21st on the school grounds. Students in Grades K-2 exhibited projects created either individually or with their families. Students in Grades 3-6 were competing for 5 available spots to enter into the Anguilla National Science Fair. The categories were Math, Technology, Physical Science, Environmental Science, and Life Science. One project from each category was selected to represent the school nationally.

The winning projects were “Rust Busters” by Maddux Owen-Vasilis in the Physical Science category, “Gardening by the Moon” by Ryan Cutler and Xander Bahadursingh in Math, “Reef Restoration with Electricity” by Amoni Cate and Parker Banks in Technology, “The Natural Oil Picker-Upper” by Kieron Edwards, Anna Lynch, and Ethan Harrigan in Environmental Science, and “Hydroponic Magic” by Joel Smith, Treyvian Duncan-Bute, and Teyha Hodge in Life Science.

Additionally, Omololu will be sending the Grade 1 Class Project – “Aquaponics Mania!” as an exhibition, but it will not be in the main competition. Teacher Tamara Pradel, one of the judges, said: “The Science Fair at the Omololu International School was a well-executed, lively event in which students from K through 6 skillfully demonstrated their knowledge in a variety of Science fields.”
