At a meeting held on Thursday 22 October 2015 KICKS UNITED FC the triple crowned champions of the 2014-2015 Senior Male Football League took the bold step to withdraw from the 2015-2016 AFA run Senior Male Football League in protest against the maltreatment meted out to the club by the AFA, and its refusal to address the club’s longstanding application for membership.
Having played in the league with great success for ten (10) years the club finds itself unable to access membership of the AFA even after repeated attempts at securing membership the last application having been submitted in October 2014.
The club has finally determined that enough is enough and neither the club nor any of its members will participate in the league in the 2015-2016 season.
Meanwhile an attempt will be made to resolve the outstanding matters that prompted this difficult decision. Should this be successful the club could make its return to the league which it has dominated over its ten year existence.
KICKS UNITED FC apologizes to our supporters but crave your understanding in this matter. This withdrawal also does not mean a cessation of play for the club as it hopes to form part of an alternative set up including the LIONS FC who has also decided to withdraw from the competition pending the resolution of matters pertinent to their relationship with the AFA.
