From now until well into next year, there will be much excitement on the grounds of the Anguilla Football Association, adjacent to the Ronald Webster Park, where a series of matches will be played.
The football season opened on Sunday, November 4, with the playing of a one-day Soccerama involving the Senior Male Football teams in the presence of a large and appreciative crowd.
The six participating teams, each of which played for twenty minutes, were welcomed by President of the Football Association, Raymond Guishard. The teams comprised Kicks United; Attackers; Roaring Lions; Salsa Ballers; Docks United; and Spartan FC, a team from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.
The final match to determine the 2012-2013 Soccerama Champion was played between Salsa Ballers and Attackers. The latter was outplayed resulting in Salsa Ballers winning the championship.
The full Soccerama Championship matches will commence with three matches this weekend. The first will be on Saturday at 3.30 pm between Spartan and Salsa Balla. The second on Sunday at 1.30 pm between Docks United and Roaring Lions; and at 3.30 pm Kicks United will engage Attackers.
The competition will continue until late February next year and will be followed by the FAA President’s Cup competition.
